Peter RosenblattDirector of UrogynecologyDr. Peter Rosenblatt received his B.A. from Brown University and his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine, in Boston. He then completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Rosenblatt then returned to Brown University where he completed his fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. Since 1995, Dr. Rosenblatt has been the Director of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Auburn Hospital, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is also the Director of Urogynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston. Since 1999, Dr. Rosenblatt has been the Director of the Fellowship Program in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Auburn Hospital. Dr. Rosenblatt is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rosenblatt is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and an active member of several other national organizations, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Urogynecologic Society, and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. He is an ad hoc reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals, including the International Urogynecology Journal, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Rosenblatt is co-founder of the New England Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (NEAGL), which offers advanced laparoscopic training courses with fresh cadavers for attendings and residents in Ob/Gyn. NEAGL also hosts regular video meetings where laparoscopic surgeons meet to demonstrate interesting cases and share their experiences with innovative techniques. He frequently speaks regionally and nationally on a number of topics related to urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery, including laparoscopic, vaginal and abdominal approaches to gynecologic surgery. Dr. Rosenblatt has been an innovator in the field of operative laparoscopy and pelvic reconstructive surgery. He holds several patents for surgical instruments and has worked as a consultant with several companies to develop new procedures for pelvic prolapse and stress incontinence. As a surgical preceptor for Gynecare, he frequently has visiting gynecologists and urologists observe his vaginal and laparoscopic reconstructive surgeries.
