Jonathan Song

Jonathan Y. Song, MD, FACOG, FACS is certified in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ACGE). He received his MD from Rush Medical College, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Song then went on to complete his fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Oak Brook Institute of Endoscopy. Dr. Song is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, as well as a recipient of the Aesculapius Award for excellence in teaching and patient care.

He is an Assistant Professor at Rush, and has won several surgical awards and competitions, including the Karl Storz International Laparoscopic Suturing Event in 2003 in the United States, as well as a variety of different awards from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS). Dr. Song has also published several articles in the field, as well as co-authoring a chapter in an Infertility Surgical Textbook. He has also authored case reports describing procedures and management in medicine that has not been done before. In 2000, Dr. Song and Dr. Rotman were the first group of surgeons in the world to perform a laparoscopic appendectomy in a female patient with situs inversus who had endometriosis. Additionally, Dr. Song is a faculty member presenting surgical cases and videos of the surgeries he has performed at the annual American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) meetings, and the SLS meetings, which are held every year in the United States.
