Ms. Winer has been a Registered Nurse (R.N.) since 1977 specializing as an RN First Assistant (RNFA) for the past 25 years in operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Ms. Winer’s many other roles include medical writing, teaching nurses and physicians, and working as a research coordinator for FDA clinical trials for adhesion barriers, treatments for fibroids and for the reduction of pelvic pain, antibiotics and various types of hormones. Surgical videos edited by Ms. Winer have been presented with great success at international and national congresses for more than a decade. Devoted to education, Ms. Winer has chaired and has been a faculty member at workshops for physicians and/or nurses taught in the US and abroad. Most frequently, she has chaired programs in Russia, Australia, Wales, United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Argentina, Israel, Spain, New Zealand, and Portugal. Ms. Winer has served as a charter member and the chairperson of the Nursing and OR Personnel committee of AAGL for more than 15 years as well as the founding chair of the AORN specialty assembly for general surgery/gynecology. She is an active member of the AORN task force. Ms. Winer is an international advisor for AAGL. She has served on the board of American Health Consultants, on editorial boards for journals including Perianesthesia Nursing Journal, Today’s Laser Nurse, Minimally Invasive Nursing, Ob/Gyn.net, and on the Advisory Board of Medical Books for China. She is an ad hoc reviewer for JMIG, AAGL. Ms. Winer has also published several dozen articles and book chapters on gynecologic and general surgery in the areas of minimally invasive surgery, instrumentation, and perioperative care. Ms. Winer has also served as an adjunct faculty of the Emory University School of Nursing.
